    Gynecology

From preventive and sexual health to fertility and family planning, we’re here to support your wellness at every age.

Women’s healthcare is about much more than your annual exam.

At Generations, we provide comprehensive gynecologic care for every stage of life–from adolescence through menopause and beyond. Whether you’re managing menstrual concerns, navigating birth control options, addressing pelvic pain, or simply looking for guidance, we’re here to listen and support you with compassion and expertise. Your health is personal–your care should be too

A yearly preventative health visit is essential for maintaining lifelong health.

At your annual visit, your provider will take time to review your health history and make sure your care fits your age, lifestyle, and unique needs. Your exam may include a pelvic and breast exam, cervical cancer screening with a pap smear and HPV test, and testing for sexually transmitted infections when appropriate. Depending on your age and health, your provider may also recommend a mammogram, bone density scan, or certain vaccinations to help keep you protected and feeling your best.

    Management of Abnormal Pap Smears

An abnormal Pap smear simply means changes were found in the cervical cells that need follow-up. Pap smears are usually done in conjunction with HPV screening for patients over the age of 30. Depending on the result, your provider may recommend repeat pap and HPV testing or a closer exam of the cervix called a colposcopy. If needed, additional treatments can address abnormal cells and help prevent cervical cancer. Your care team will guide you through each step to ensure the best follow-up and management for your health.

    Pre-Conception Visits

A pre-conception visit is designed to help you prepare for a healthy pregnancy. During this appointment, your provider reviews your medical, surgical, and family history, discusses your menstrual cycles, and answers questions about fertility and timing. They may recommend certain health screenings, lab tests, or genetic carrier screening, as well as review current medications to be sure they are safe for pregnancy.

Lifestyle factors such as nutrition, exercise, supplements (including folic acid), and avoidance of harmful substances are also discussed. Your provider may talk with you about managing chronic conditions, vaccinations, and any steps to optimize your health before becoming pregnant.

This visit is an opportunity to plan ahead, address concerns, and set the foundation for a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby.
