Meet Our Team

John R. Sanborn, MD, is one of the original physicians who founded our medical practice in 1989, which grew to become Generations OB-GYN.  He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Sanborn did his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan.  He was Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with High Distinction.  He attended medical school at the University of Michigan, where he earned the Lange Medical Publishing Award for both his first year and second year performance.  He was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Graduated Cum Laude from the Medical School.

He came to William Beaumont Hospital in 1979 and, over the years, won the Resident Teaching Award four times, the Mentor Award, and the ACOG OBGYN National Faculty Award.

After all these years, he still loves his job and enjoys caring for and interacting with both patients he has known for forty years and those new to the practice.

He loves Michigan Football, Northern Michigan and his time with his six children and 11 grandchildren (all boys).  Still hoping someday for that grandbaby girl.
